VaultSort 4.7.0

feedbacksystem resourcesPerformancesecure delete

Adds an in-app feedback widget and quick survey, makes System Resources load near-instantly, and corrects Secure Delete's guidance for unencrypted external drives.

What's New

  • Added an in-app feedback widget: an occasional, dismissible rating prompt (Not great / Okay / Love it) with an optional comment, plus a short opt-in survey asking how you found VaultSort and what you'd like to see next. Open either any time from the new "Send Feedback" entry in the sidebar. (Feedback you submit reaches us even if Data Sharing is turned off in Settings, since submitting it is itself a choice to share it.)
  • System Resources (Storage, Memory, and Analysis > Overview) now loads its data in the background as soon as VaultSort starts, so opening the window is close to instant instead of waiting several seconds for every drive to finish being checked β€” disk details also stream in progressively rather than sitting behind a spinner until everything resolves.

Bug Fixes

  • Fixed Secure Delete's guidance for unencrypted external drives, which suggested that encrypting a file already stored there could protect it. Because flash storage can leave the original data in reserved cells even after encryption, the guidance now correctly recommends encrypting sensitive files before they're copied to an unencrypted drive.
  • Fixed the System Resources window occasionally becoming unresponsive if left open for a while, caused by its automatic refresh piling up overlapping background requests.
  • Fixed an intermittent failure when scanning a drive for leftover temporary files from an interrupted Secure Delete free-space wipe.
