VaultSort 4.2.2

security keysencryptionupdatesUI

Fixes encrypting folders and decrypting compressible files with hardware security keys for v4 format, restores smaller differential app updates, and adds quality-of-life touches to Organize and Secure.

What's New

  • With no file or folder selected yet, clicking a feature β€” Auto-Organize, Deduplicate, Encrypt, Decrypt, or Shred β€” now opens the picker and runs the action as soon as you choose, instead of making you click the feature a second time.
  • Added a Copy to Clipboard button to the Report a Detection Issue dialog, so you can send us a report by email or the contact form even when analytics sharing is turned off.

Bug Fixes

  • Fixed encrypting a folder with a v4 hardware security key (YubiKey or Touch ID) failing. Folders now compress and encrypt correctly; single files were unaffected. Data was always safe.
  • Fixed decryption sometimes failing with a misleading "not enough space" error on files whose contents compress well, even when your drive had plenty of room. VaultSort now sizes its temporary workspace to fit the actual contents.
  • Fixed app updates re-downloading the entire app every time. Updates now fetch only the changed portions, for a much smaller and faster download.
